Ed Sheeran apologizes to the audience for "making mistakes"

Ed Sheeran apologized to his fans for making "mistakes" at the start of his first concert since Macklemore was excluded from his tour due to pro-Palestinian statements he made on stage.

The singer began his concert in Philadelphia by talking about the controversy that has surrounded the tour since then, and prompted all artists participating in its opening concerts to withdraw.

“I never wanted to be an activist musician, but this has put me in the middle of an important and heated debate about freedom of expression and the most complex political issue on earth,” Sheeran said.

He continued: “During my career, I tried not to be a political commentator in any way, because I want my music and concerts to bring people together, not divide them.

But this is a humanitarian issue, and I can no longer hide my feelings about it.”
